Emily Bodkin is thrilled to be returning to Cornwell’s for a second season.  You may remember her from Dixe swim club as Dinah and last summer as Sister Mary Hubert in Nunsense II.  Most recently, she was seen at the Old Creamery Theatre in Amana, IA, performing the role of a very pregnant Angela in Honky Tonk Angels Holiday Spectacular.  Some of her favorite roles include the Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella, Dora in Equus, Sister Robert Anne in Nuncrackers, and Frau Schmidt in the Asian tour of The Sound of Music.  Emily graduated with a BM in Musical Theatre from Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio, but is originally from Massachusetts.  She loves knitting, movies, and pretty much anything that has to do with Garfield the Cat.  She is also very blessed to have Wednesday nights off so she can watch the final season of Lost!  A huge thanks to Dennis and Susan for having me back, and much love to all my family and friends!

About the Show

This time around, the year is 1969 and the world is changing. As folks protest the Vietnam War and women are demanding equal pay for equal work in their small rural Minnesota community, the ladies of the Lutheran church basement kitchen are dealing with changes of their own.

With their heartwarming humor and hilarious antics, CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES 2: A SECOND HELPING! takes us from serving the High School students at the Luther League Banquet to a church sponsored Missionary Night and the rise and fall of a Viking’s Super Bowl Sunday.

From the elderly matriarch of the kitchen to the young mom-to-be, these women find strength in each other as they deal with the joys and upheavals from below the “House of God”
